Delux builds a dainty burger that seems to fit the dainty neighborhood for the dainty customers. On a mid afternoon well after the lunch hour crunch, I stopped in and enjoy the place all to myself with fast prompt service.

Szechwan situated among a cluster of hotels has a captive audience of business travelers and tourists.  However, it doesn't rest on its laurels because the restaurant also draws a lot of local Asian customers hungry for authentic Chinese food.  It is the real deal.  Two the three dishes pictured below were excellent.  Which one didn't make the grade?

Downtown Phoenix has surprisingly far fewer eateries than anticipated, especially those serving non-mainstream foods. Yasda Bento offers fare other than the traditional American and Americanized.

Taberna Express - Phoenix International Airport PHX

I initially stop in on the dine-in side but depart when a customer sitting at a table speaks up and said she had been waiting 10 minutes for someone to take her order.  I leave and go to the Express side.

Terminal 3 has limited food options and once beyond security the options run scarcer. Wendy's was a fast and comparatively low cost breakfast.

Mandy's Fish and Chips - Phoenix, AZ

Mandy's is located along the Light Rail so arriving at the parking lot can be a bit of detour if you take an incorrect turn. The Light Rail must affect customer flow.

I asked for the Information desk attendant for recommendations and was told Dick Clark's but the breakfast menu wasn't that appealing so the I chose Paradise which I anticipated to be faster and cheaper.

Oxaca Mexican Food is adjacent to Paradise Bakery and Cafe and it wasn't packing them in like Paradise was. What do the frequent fliers know?

The Hero Factory - Phoenix, AZ

It there is such a thing as a man cave restaurant, Hero Factory would certainly rank near the top of the list. Walk in during lunch on a weekday and you'll see a sea of men in business casual in a mass food frenzy. Where are the women? The two that dared entered ordered takeout.

Downtown Deli is well prepared for the noon cattle drive, the cattle quickly funneled through the winding railings. The cashiers and food assemblers are seasoned, efficient, and immune to the distress of this daily ritual. The locals, namely the area business people create a bustling energetic atmosphere.
