Driving along State Rd 26, we saw nothing but chain restaurants so we continued hoping to find an independent. We stopped in Grindstone Charley's not recognizing the name but believing it to be an independent but as it turned out, it is a regional chain.

As much as I really want to like the food at Chick-fil-A, I can't.  Maybe my tastebuds are acclimated to the saltier, fattier, and tastier versions offered by the competition.  In comparison Chick-fil-A offers bland, less dense chicken patties.
