When at a restaurant for the first time, I'll ask what the signature dish is if the menu doesn't indicate a signature or chef recommendations. So I asked the waitress who said Aladdin has no signature dish but the Chicken Schwarma and the Baked Kibbeh were popular orders. I felt she was saying it just to say something.
Baked Kibbeh. I thought it unusual that it came out in almost perfect rectangles. It wasn't baked on the spot but cooked in advance and reheated (microwaved?). It was bland and soggy with no standout Middle Eastern spices giving it a flavor kick. The salad was more flavorful, fresh, and with a tart jab. The meal was pricey side for what it was.
Aladdin felt to be operating in perfunctory mode. The belly dancers were off tonight.
