The MSP airport gutted the old guard Concourse G restaurants and replaced them with trendy expensive local celebrity chef restaurants of the OTG empire. iPads are in your face for self service ordering and further isolate the lonely diner while disincentivizing wait staff to provide good service as the tip is paid at point of order. Being an airport, the wait staff knows customers are one time and gone forever.
I don't recall the name of this dish but I believe it was Breakfast Hotdish with eggs over medium. Lots of potatoes. What was the protein? Looks like ham. Overall it was much better than anticipated.. Cheesy, heavy, filling, flavorful. I was expecting to gripe about it and the excessive cost but it was a great airport food dish made with heart. It ranks in the top ten or twenty dishes I've had at airports and is worthy of the local celebrity chef Anne Kim's name. Good but too expensive for breakfast $14.
The waitress knocked over colleague's glass of milk on me. Can I get my tip back? Stupid iPads!
11/20/15, 7:40 PM. Korean BBQ Pizza with short ribs and kimchee. The crust is top notch, one of the best I've had and certainly the best I've had at an airport eatery. The short rib pieces were tender and flavorful but so stingy. The kimchee provided a tartness and taste that balanced on an edge between desirable and despicable. The greens added cool welcome contrast. Very nice but overvalued at $15.
