Is Pappy's Smokehouse one of the best BBQ restaurants in the US?  The long queue says something about this location.  We are about find out if it's real or hype.

Half Slab of Ribs. I've downed ribs at many joints and walked away disappointed. To date, Pappy's served the best I've had, smoky, savory, and saturated to the core flavor. Alas, it wasn't fall off the bone tender. It's expensive at $16 but a wonderful taste and texture sensation worth the asking price.

Brisket. Brisket is a difficult cut to make well. How do you take a chicken breast lean beef and make it flavorful and moist? The brisket was certainly flavorful and moist for brisket and Pappy's did a stupendous job.

The vinegar slaw was excellent, tart but just right, sweet and accented with the taste of celery seed. The best of the four sides.

Burnt Ends. OMG! Fatty, unctuous, smokey, flavorful, tender. One bite of the burnt ends and I said if I could have one last meal, it could be the burnt ends. This far exceeded my expectations.

The fried corn on the cob was too sweet for me. Grilled would be better. The tart potato salad tasted prepared as an afterthought.
