I had what Richman had. The lukewarm sweet Italian sausage had a nice casing snap and flavor but the quality of common store bought. The red sauce was meaty, sweet with the slightest tang. The Italian beef was sliced newspaper thin, tender and moist. The texture reminded me of processed pressed meat rather than the home cooked I normally associate with Italian beef. The giardiniera provided the right level of heat and flavor to offset the otherwise mild flavors of the Combo.
The best thing about Martino's was the service. Look at that smile.
Bottom Line: Hype. Decent but the food fell short.
Media Exposure: Man vs. Food
What: Italian Combo with Red Sauce and Giardiniera.
It all started here. My first time intentionally seeking a nationally featured restaurant and my shameful spiral down to a groupie following Adam Richman, Anthony Bourdain, Guy Fieri, Anthony Zimmern, and countless lesser food pimps.
