CLOSED December 23, 2018. Sexual harassment. The restaurant was sold to new owners and renamed Turf Club.
The ciabatta bun is chewy and spongy, far from the ideal crispy exterior. The bun to patty ratio tilted toward the high side. The bottom didn't hold up well to the grease. Toppings also included grilled onions, and American cheese. The mushroom and truffles elevated this burger. Serve me a bowl of these mushrooms and truffles and I'll be in ecstasy. Without the mushroom and truffles it would be an ordinary burger. The third to half pound patty ordered medium arrived a perfect juicy greasy medium. 4 stars.
The fries cooked in duck fat are great and worthwhile.
Terry's Famous Filet Mignon Chili with Pork Tenderloin. I've had Gold Star Chili which is Cincinnati style chili with microbeads of meat and having it twice, a key characteristic seems to be tartness. Terry's offers big rough textured cuts of meat but the tartness dominated so I figured it was also Cincy style but was later informed Terry's is not Cincinnati style chili. Regardless, neither is for me. 2.5 stars.
Burger. Ordered medium, it arrived medium. It is a juicy, greasy, sloppy burger. A true test of the burger is to eat it minimalist with the bun, the patty, and maybe the cheese. Take away the toppings and condiments and then you'll know how good the foundation is. I took a bite into the patty, bun, and cheese and then just the patty alone. In that regard, it was a good but not great burger. Eaten as a whole, it was also a good burger but not great. I believe the bun is ciabatta but it was chewy rather than crunchy. 3.5 stars.
