Taqueria Saltillo - Arlington, TX

CLOSED 2025(?) and relocated to 419 Randol Mill Rd, Arlington

2020 E Pioneer Pkwy Suite 200

Visited June 4. 2015

A colleague recommended Taqueria Saltillo who prefers California over Tex-Mex style tacos. It's located inside the back of a gas station, which came as a surprise. I was expecting a dedicated store front.

Short Rib Taco with cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, cucumber spears, bean sprouts, and cilantro in a soft corn tortilla. Wow. This far exceeded expectation, probably better than 95% of the Mexican tacos I've had. Super fresh, soft, tender, and a mix of Mexican and Asian flavors. 4 stars.

Santa Cruz Taqueria - Portland, OR

CLOSED.  Now a different restaurant named Taqueria Las Palamos

13046 SE Stark St
Hazelwood

I stumbled upon this establishment, which has three different signs with three different names creating an episode of confusion.  Regardless of the name, the local Hispanics know it's here.  I am the only non-Hispanic present. This is a testament to goodness of the food at Santa Cruz.
