Early morning in West Yellowstone, few restaurants are open.  This McDonald's is the worst McDonald's I've been to outside of airports. Poor unknowing saps expecting a fast cheap meal to start the day off instead get shafted with higher than airport prices. To add insult, it wasn't fast. The breakfast arrives tepid and didn't taste fresh or good. This is an example of a classic tourist trap.

Woodside Bakery was a fantastic find in a tourist trap where mediocre food rules the norm. It's open from early breakfast to mid afternoons. The staff are tree hugging food co-op types. Hugging, not mugging here.

As I rule, I like DQ and I feel their burgers are usually a few notches above a McDonald's burger but this tourist centric West Yellowstone DQ served burgers that tasted like bland charcoal. I like a charred grilled taste but these tasted nothing like but sprinkled charcoal powder.

Yup, we succumbed to the tourist mentality of staying with what we thought would be safe especially late in the evning and relatively low cost. I should have done my homework because this one is a classic tourist trap three - small portions, expensive, and long lines.
