Bonefish Grill - Lakeland, FL

225 W Pipken Ln

Visited March 3, 2014

The neighborhood doesn't seem prime but both locals and the out of towners fill the parking lot close to capacity this Monday evening.  Bonefish must be serving good food or people are comfortable with this chain.

Bosphorous Turkish Kitchen - Lakeland, FL

CLOSED Sep 2013(?) due to losing lease

127 South Kentucky Ave

Bosphorous is located downtown among a sea of other restaurants and where open parking spots are immediately seized. Distinguishing itself from others is that it is one of the few ethnic restaurants downtown. On this evening, Kentucky Ave was a steady stream of people at the park.

Burger King #4501 - Lakeland, FL

3015 US Hwy 98 S

Visited May 9, 2013

In days past, I preferred Burger King over McDonald's. With the advent of the microwave, Burger King started its decline and has continued its downward spiral. Burger King didn't help itself with commercials with featuring the creepy bobble headed King waking in bed with a stranger or with the King peering into the bedroom.

Microwaved pucks replaced once hot fresh flame grilled burgers. Char grilled burgers taken from the burger drawers and microwaved taste old, dry, and artificial.

I stopped into this Lakeland BK as a matter of convenience and expediency.  It had an uneasy slippery greasy feel to the floor. Clientele was Walmart like. They were understaffed for lunch with a long line forming growing longer. I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich which was bland and rubbery. The fries were decent.  Nope, this BK didn't soften my notion of BK.

Fish City Grill - Lakeland, FL

Among the plethora of restaurants at Lakeside Village, Fish City Grill was an easy first choice. The menu items are more varied and eclectic with emphasis on Southern and Cajun cooking.
