CLOSED Dec(?) 2014
Love & Whisky was one of the initial trio of food trucks that opened in the pre-security food court area October to November 2014. For reasons unknown, Love & Whisky shut down in a short order having been open about 2 months or less.
I almost always feel ripped off buying airport food. Almost always because Love & Whisky was an rare exception providing excellent food at an outstanding value. Can you believe they charged only $6.95 for their PDX Burger including the tator tots?
The PDX Burger started with a sturdy bun that provided a perfect bun to patty ratio. Toppings included lettuce, tomatoes, and Tillamook and Swiss cheese. The patty was 1/2 in thick, medium to medium well done. I prefer burgers medium rare to medium but not knowing the output/turnover rate of burgers here I felt this was the safe route to go. It was moist nonetheless. I rated it a 9.1 out of 10, undoubtedly the best airport burger and the best airport value ever in all my travels. No burger has come close.
It was a sad day for PDX frequent fliers when L&W shut down this airport food truck. It was a sad day for Portland food lovers when they also shuttered their street food truck with a reputation for their Frisco Burger.
