Maggiano's Little Italy - Schaumburg, IL

1901 E Woodfield Rd

Visited November 12, 2014

Despite the frigid temperature, Maggiano's was operating near capacity but we got an immediate table. The middle to upper middle class crowd on this evening created a warm convivial atmosphere. The decor brought to mind the Roaring Twenties, The Godfather, and Cuba.

Linguine & Clams comprised clams, chopped clams, and with a choice of white clam sauce. It was aesthetically appealing but not so in the photo. The opposite held true in the taste department. It seemed it would be a tasty dish but the reality was insipid. Both the pasta and clams were good quality but the seasoning was left desperately wanting. On the bright side, it probably meant that it was healthier but I go out to eat sinful delights. The price point was too high for the ingredients and execution.

Our waitress was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and non-intrusive.

It's an upscale Olive Garden with fresher ingredients but less lively flavor.

Not sure if Maggiano but nothing else seems to fit.  Maybe Granite City but that feels less right.
