CLOSED December(?) 2014.
The entire row of old guard restaurants surrounding Gate C9 shuttered December 31, 2014. Despite its shortcomings, it's sad to see the restaurant close.
PDX airport was my introduction to Portland via layover. The airport formed my initial impression of Portland. Spacious, quiet, clean, uncrowded, gray, and Plain Jane food. The most exotic offering was Good Dog/Bad Dog.
Oregon Smokey at an airport gouging priced $5.98 was described as a "hickory smoked garlicky sausage with cayenne pepper spice."
Clara Peller grumpily questioned, "Where's the beef???" Likewise I asked, "Where's the sausage???" You've got to kidding me! The sausage was lost in the bun. It wasn't even close to a paired match. My schlort made this sausage green with penis envy. Bad Dog!
Taste? The cayenne heat dominated the garlic and smoky flavor. Disappointing. The bun was of a higher quality slightly toasted and fresh.
