What: Artichoke Pizza
For $5 and at the airport, this is huge value slice of pizza. The Artichoke pizza wouldn't be available until 11 AM so I disappointingly went with the classic Magherita that tests the mettle of the pizzaiola.
The pizza has been prepared again and sits behind the glass counter. The cashier grabs a slice and reheats it in the oven. The pizza is well cooked already and I believe reheating it just turns the crust bottom into toast. The crust at the point is ciabatta like and I begin to understand why New Yorkers believe their pizzas are so good. This pizza crust is good if a little burnt. The tomato sauce is almost minus the tartness with a round sweetness. The cheese is a little too heavy and stringy for a Margherita and reminds me of a typical American cheese pizza. Where's the basil?
I can go for some more New York pizza.
