Mission BBQ sports a military theme and supports the US troops.
The restaurant follows the counter service model making for convenient ordering. Alas, the cashiers need training about the food.
Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket Burnt End.
You know you're not in Texas anymore. Despite the bark and the pink ring, the flavors and textures fell short of the best. The brisket pulled apart easily even though it was a lean cut. Lean as it was, it did not taste dry but it lacked desirability. It had only the mildest hint of smoke and the meat lacked seasoning necessitating an ample dousing of BBQ sauce. Mission stations a variety 6 pack at each table. I preferred the Bay-B-Que sauce.
Whereas the brisket was meh, Mission stepped it up on the pulled pork. Moist, tender, but still light on seasoning. I haven't run across any spectacular pulled pork yet.
