My impression is that patrons either were intimately familiar with this restaurant or they came here because they were at the mall and decided to give it a go.
Com Dac Biet. The over easy egg appeared undercooked for my tastes. Aesthetically it wasn't an appealing dish. The tiny bowl of nuoc mam disappointed.
The shredded pork is cold which came as a surprise. The visual and the eating are congruous, a bad thing here. The egg meat loaf was warm so I felt relieved. The pork chop failed to have a nice grilled flavor but that was balanced out with a sweet savoriness. The nuoc mam didn't disappoint and made the rice enjoyable.
The meal fell well short of the offerings of Vietnamese restaurants I typically encounter in Minneapolis. My stomach is disappointed in the portion size but my waistline thanks the owners.
The seating is self serve but then I was directed to move over in line with the cash register where I could be surveilled. Other customers arriving after me weren't directed where to sit. Maybe it's my beady eyes and shifty body movement that alarmed her. Enrolling in a Dale Carnegie course may help.
Probability of making an out of the way return: 0%
Probability of returning if in the area: 2%
