Vishnu's gets the love of the locals but otherwise little publicity. It's a shame because this utilitarian mom and pop operation make their food with love and serve it pride and love, and they deserve more publicity.
Doubles. The bara with chana has exquisite addictive flavors and textures. I fully understand why it is the most popular in Trinidad and am surprised it hasn't yet caught on in North America.
Boneless Goat Dhal Roti. This massive one pounder was equally delicious and addictive with curried tender flavor infused goat. I haven't had any Indian influenced food this good in the US. Caribbean food made for the Indian population by people of Indian heritage. That's the way it should be.
The Solo Ginger Beer is a product of Trinidad and Tobago. Ginger beer is more craft soda than mass produced but this one tasted mass produced without heart. Heavy and less than refreshing. It's the least desirable ginger beer I've had.
