Florence feels like it seemingly just exists without goals, drive, and hope. So how was it that Mad Mike's opened a burger shop in Florence, not only a burger shop but a great burger shop in this seemingly unambitious locale.
It was a great burger. I hadn't been to a renown burger joint in awhile and so biting into this monster was like a reawakening. The patties had bold beefiness minus a char grilled taste. The patties were well done yet not dry. The mushrooms provided mega umami. Unlike many Swiss burgers that overpower with cheese and mushrooms, the balance of cheese and mushroom was perfect. Mushrooms, cheese, and meat never tasted so good. All the components worked well, one of the most synergistic if not the most synergistic burgers I've had. Rating: 9.2
