Sometimes you look inside a restaurant to see how many customers are dining and make a decision to enter based on busyness. Such was the case with Fortune Gourmet. There was nothing particular that made it stand out among the many restaurants in Chinatown. Having an A grade and clean appearance were tacit factors in making the decision.
Sweet and Sour Pork. Stewed Beef with Turnip Hot Pot. The stewed beef was an excellent choices. The stewed beef was tender and comforting with the anise.The sweet and sour pork was a disappointment with about 90% batter and 10% pork.
Rock Cod with Green Vegetables was flaky and tender with wok hay.
Overall a decent meal with decent prices. Locals seem to know of this place and for a short time, there was a queue. Respectable, competitive but it needs to take it a step further.
