We believed Anthony's would be a tourist trap with commensurate quality food, but we were hungry and didn't want fast food.
Seeing the menu board, the prices were respectable given the tourist settting. We ordered through the counter service Fishette rather than the sit down Grotto. The queue was short and the ordering efficient. Still we were leery of both quality and quantity.
It took a bit before our order was ready.
Fish of the Day Whitefish with Krab Macaroni salad and cole slaw. The fish was fantastic. Hot, flaky, tender, and well seasoned. Much better than expected. I didn't really care for the Krab Macaroni salad but the cole slaw was well balanced.
World Famous New England Chowder. 2 Fish Tacos with Beans and Rice. New England Chowder was top notch, one of the best I've had, and gone too soon. The fish tacos were fresh, lively, well seasoned and also gone all too soon.
Bottom Line: Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The chowder price was pushing it. This may be a tourist trap but the quality and execution exceeded expectation.
