Golden City was at 10% capacity when we walked in leaving us to wonder if we were steered wrong that it was a good restaurant but by the time we left it was at almost full capacity.
We weren’t steered wrong. All the dishes were excellently executed.
Fish (?) and Eggplant in foreground. The fish and eggplant was replete with wok hay and the eggplant cooked to perfection.
Fried Pork Chop with Spicy Salt. I found the fried pork chop to be addictive and seasoned perfect for me. Crispy, meaty, tender. I couldn’t stop with this dish.
Lamb and bean curd hot pot. The lamb was gamy enough to let me know it was lamb but not excessive. The lamb was tender but could have been cooked a bit longer for the fall off the bone tender texture.
The prices were on the high side but the ingredients were high quality and the portions generous. We were very happy with the preparations. It's a winner we would want in our neighborhood.
