Fusion Cafe lacks a distinctive sign that screams its presence. It blends in with all the other buildings in this busy stretch of 108th Street.
Rice Noodle with Curry, BBQ Pork, and Shrimp. This is a good rendition, especially for the Milwaukee metro. It lacks wok hay but otherwise it is very good. It is mildly spicy, good enough to tickle the tongue.
Hong Sue Pork Belly Rice with baby bok choy. The pork belly is rich, fatty, sweet, savory, and comforting. The platter is stingy with more pork belly and overly generous with rice.
Beef Stew Noodle Soup with hand pulled noodles. The picture doesn’t do the size of the bowl justice. The noodles are a little chewy and hads good mouthfeel. The beef is a tougher dryer cut and cooked long to moderate tenderness. This is a decent rendition, not the best I’ve had but a winner for the metro.
Milwaukee has long had a dearth of authentic Chinese/Hong Kong style food restaurants. Now the metro has at least one. The food is higher priced but within reason. I wish Fusion has much success and inspires copycat competition.
