Lu’s Sandwiches – Minneapolis, MN

2718 S Nicollet Ave #101-B

Lu’s Sandwiches is a little cafe located on Eat Street across the street from Quang offering sandwiches, fruit shakes, desserts, and bubble tea. We picked up a couple of bahn mi sandwiches, a Grilled Pork and a Cold Cut.

By the time they got home, the sandwiches had been out several hours so the inside of the baguettes had started to harden. Still these were excellent. These seemed better than the banh mi prepared at Saigon Restaurant. The Grilled Pork offered just the right amount of grilled flavor with a nice sweetness. I hadn’t a clue what was in the Cold Cut as its appearance was different but it certainly was tasty. In both sandwiches, the combination of cilantro, carrots, jalapeno, and pickled diakon worked harmoniously to create a wonderful flavor and mouth feel.

For under $3 each, these are delightful treats.
