Calypso's Buffet - Bettendorf, IA

CLOSED early 2016?

1777 Isle Pkwy

My colleague and I arrived into the Bettndorf late. I had told him where I wanted to dine and we headed straight for Calypso's Buffet located in the Isle of Capri Casino. We found the signage to the casino sparse and difficult to read in the dark and got turned around a few times before we finally found this place.

I watched the cheap gluttonous bib wearing gamblers heap mounds of snow crab legs to overflowing onto their plates. Crab legs seem to be a favored items of those wanting the most from their money but strictly from a taste standpoint, crab legs have little appeal compared against so many of nature's best.
I indulged in honey mustard chicken, roast beef, baked catfish, pork chops, fried clam strips, Salisbury steak, and fried cod. The highlight for me was the honey mustard chicken with a crispy coating and moist, tender, and flavorful inside.

For dessert, I selected carrot cake and grasshopper pie, both acceptable renditions.

Casinos have a reputation of typically having a decent buffet. For certain this was better than Old Country Buffet but along comes  a pricier admission of $15.
