Atlantic Buffet – Woodbury, MN

CLOSED 2012

8340 City Centre Dr

The buffet (Sunday lunch $10.50) includes sushi, one of the foods I have been enamored with lately. The sushi quality and selection wasn’t as good as some others buffets but it was acceptable for a buffet offering, just nothing outstanding.

Mongolian Barbeque. This was a typical Mongolian buffet affair. It was missing some ingredients I would have expected such as lamb and bean sprouts but it did have raw shrimp. The cook wasn’t as adept wielding the sticks as others I’ve seen. The sauces available where typical. All things being equal and assuming all ingredients are fresh, how good the cooked product is really depends on you. The only thing the cook does is dump your ingredients on the griddle and cook it until it’s done.

A couple less typical buffet items offered include the light battered fried frog leg and the steamed fish. The fish was not identified but it comes out whole minus the head. The fish was decent with a texture halfway between walleye and cod. The pot sticker was tasty as was the fried wings. The beef rib was mild and tasted mostly as if it was boiled with some sauce slathered on to soak for a few minutes. The egg roll was disappointing.
