Grilled Spare Rib of Pork in BBQ Sauce. Another fantastic dish with flavor soaked to the bone. It was savory with a slight sweetness and hardly any tartness. I wish more stateside ribs tasted like this. If I didn’t have the chicken dish as a comparison, this would have rated higher. 9.3
Spicy African Chicken. While it was not written on the menu, this is also called Galinha a Africana, a signature Macanese dish, and after tasting this I can understand why. Chicken can be prepared in countless ways but this has to be the best chicken dish I ever had, regardless of how or who prepared it. The chicken was moist with flavors infused to the bone while the paper thin skin added a nice crunch. I can’t describe the flavors properly other than it was slightly spicy with a slight hint of coconut. It was about as close to chicken perfection as I have had. Rating: 9.9
Codfish of Cream Portuguese Style. Reportedly the Macanese do a wonderful variety of preparations with codfish. As such, I had to try at least something that contained cod. Rating: 8.4
Baked Portuguese Fried Rice in Pineapple. The family wanted this despite my vehement objections. If you’re in Macau, try the indigenous foods, not commonplace food you can get in just about any Chinese restaurant. 7.4
