North Pole Restaurant - Newport, MN

1644 Hastings Ave

Newport will never be mistaken as a Mecca of diverse food so it's no surprise the North Pole Restaurant survives in land of bland. The North Pole Restaurant serves diner conservative staples bacon, eggs, pancakes, burgers and sandwiches. It's frozen in the 70's and probably just the way the regular locals raised on meat and potatoes like.

The California Burger ($4.25) with a side of chips and pickles was the most "exotic" entry available.
The patty was a notch above most of the big chain fast food offerings but nonetheless dry, thin, and small side, less than a ¼ lb. The toasted soft bun was a nice touch. The burger was otherwise bland and only the mayonnaise and ketchup gave it zing.
