Min's throw the words dumpling house into its name to pull the customers in and they may be known for their xiao long bao but the dumplings are a minuscule part of what they offer as a cursory glance through the menu will show.
I order the Steamed Fish in House Sauce but was told it would take about a half hour. No, I really don't feel like waiting that long so I order the Braised Pork in Brown Sauce imagining what it will be like.
About 10 minutes later, the dish arrives. It's fatty pork belly with the vegetable stirred fried separately and then mixed in with stir fried garlic. The pork is quite fatty and I bite off most of the skin and subcutaneous fat. I eat the meat and lesser quantities of stratified fat. The pork is tender and chock full of flavor to the core. The pork contrasts nicely with the barely cooked green peppers. The garlic needs to be braised with the pork to mellow out and sweeten and to enhance the richness of the dish.
The dish isn't what I expect and it has its flaws but overall I'm content.
