CLOSED late(?) 2018.
I'm no expert but I've had my share of Indian food spending time eating in the Indian-centric Brampton area. The food in Brampton is made by Indians for Indians. I believe my background provides me a good reference.
My grasp of Indian food names still remains tenuous but here goes. Chicken Tandoori, Dry Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Nazimi Goat Curry, Japuir Chicken Curry, Butter Chicken, Okra Fry.
Typically Chicken Tandoori tends to be overcooked, especially in a buffet setting. In addition, just about every chicken tandoori dish I've had tastes identical. Chutney's version sets itself apart in having umami, a first for me. It is so good I had thirds.
The Chicken Biryani also surprises with umami although less than the chicken tandoori.
Everything on the plate tastes great with the exception of the Okra. It just burned.
How does the food here compare to Brampton? Some of the Indian buffet in Brampton aren't as good. Chutney's does right and I hope they continue as is. Good stuff.
