The GTA Chinese populated areas continues to morph from Hong Kong to China. I can't say if this evolution is good or bad but only that it is. Time will tell. No. I retract my statement. It's bad because it's driving real estate to outrageous and egregious levels. How do Torontonians making typical wage survive? BMWs and Mercedes hog the parking landscape. How did so many Mainland Chinese acquire so much wealth?
On the positive, this adds diversity to the food scene. Tai Ping is a well known chain in Guangzhou and brings its name to the GTA.
Beef Brisket and Beef Tendon. Below par brisket fails to be fall apart tender and has heavy salty soy sauce flavor. The competitive comforting soft tendon doesn't absorb the sauce and is much more agreeable. But go to a decent dim sum restaurant in the GTA, and the tendon will be better. Tai Ping provides small portions but asks a big price of $13. For a Chinese restaurant in the GTA, that's not competitive pricing.
I don't foresee myself returning here.
