The Empire grows old. It smells like a cross between a library with old books and a dank basement. Greek Town is stuck in 70s mode and needs to freshen up. The lunch crowd is old, maybe the same folks that grew up eating at this restaurant.
Gryro Platter. Even though the decor is old the gyro tastes fresh and suitable for the modern pallet. Thin shaved meat with onions and tomato wrapped in a hot pita is one of my go to comfort foods and Pete's offers a version that although not the best I've had I could easily wolf down on a daily basis. Hot, savory, super umami.
The potato salad is heavy. Heavy! This tasted 70s style and needs to lighten up.
