Xico fame comes through its Oaxacan foods and as much as I wanted to order the Black Cod Pozole, my stomach said no after a day of gluttony. I asked the waitress if a half sized portion was available and was told no. Two no's so I disappointingly settled on the compromise poblano salad.
The Fall Poblano Salad comprises roasted chile stuffed with zucchini,
fresh mozzarella & delicata squash served warm over lettuce &
radish. The poblano salad turned out to be an winner. An exquisitely
prepared dish with balanced seasonings, flavors, and textures. The right
touch of oil to coat the lips, enough to provide a sense of fullness
yet never feeling heavy. A vegetarian dish that didn't have me craving
protein and one of the best salads I have had. If the salad was this
good, I can imagine how good the proteins are, which left me cursing
myself for not ordering the protein.
