Bistro shelled out big money for the beautiful bar and wood decor. Classy, comforting, inviting. It was unexpected to find an upscale dining establishment in Amish country. Would it be fair to say to recoup the investment, they pass along the cost to the customer? Because the pasta entree below was $24.
Bistro Pasta comprises "shrimp and prosciutto sautéed in a white wine cream sauce topped with crab meat, smoked gouda and served over a bed of penne pasta". Creamy, cheesy, and comforting as most white cream sauced pasta dishes are. The prosciutto was the standout ingredient. The shrimp was overcooked without the natural casing snap. It was a capable dish but at its sticker price I expected to be wowed.
