Dragon Boat and the surrounding restaurants aren’t easy to find. They’re in an area you wouldn’t expect restaurants to typically be, like the adage hidden in plain sight.

Dragon Boat had me excited with the full but difficult parking lot and the packed inside with a queue. The well heeled and energetic crowd to me meant foodie paradise. However a cursory review of the menu had me asking “Where’s the fusion?”.

The wait without reservation was long and it gave us more than ample time to determine our order. It would be a set dinner. I still didn’t see fusion. It also became evident our grungy travel clothes were out of place.

Free Range Steamed Chicken. How do the restaurants get the skin so yellow and firm? This was a decent rendition, competitive with the versions typically served in the GTA.

Tiger shrimp with dried shrimp. Decent but not outstanding shrimp, somewhat flat in execution. I actually preferred the much better prepared and wok hay tasting beans and squash/zucchini (?).

Excellent steamed fish. Good mouthfeel, soft, smooth, moist, and with a slight springiness. But what is the fish?
