Wasabi - Richmond Hill, ON

CLOSED  2015(?)

270 West Beaver Creek Road

Sushi and salmon sashimi. Other fish were available along with abalone. Jellyfish, seaweed or something like that.  I was hungry and it had been awhile since I had sushi so it probably tasted better than it actually was. For sure though, it wasn't standout quality.

The udon noodle soup was made to order at the line.  It was insipid, looking much better than it tasted.

I believe it was capelin, my first time experiencing it, and it was so good with the roe treasure within.

Wasabi is located in the mix among other restaurants in this bustling strip mall where you're in a constant battle to find a parking spot among a mass of non-courteous non-law abiding drivers. At $16 plus for the all you can eat lunch buffet, nothing other than the capelin excelled but it was a higher quality buffet lacking in execution. It was worth going once to get the curiosity out of the system, and now I know I won’t be returning.
