At lunch time, customers packed the place with a queue extending out the door. With so many restaurants in the area to choose from, I saw the queue as sign of good food. The inside is small holding maybe about 50 people.
Shanghai Soup Noodle. It takes time to build those impressive hand pulling skills and it takes even more time to make it look easy. I'm not sure what all that pulling and pounding is supposed to accomplish other than to lengthen the noodles because other than that, this hand pulled noodle was rough. This is one dish with its taste and texture I could do without.
Noodle with Minced Meat. The flavor was more sweet than savory and spicy. It was a competitive dish and not much more.
Wonton in Red Peanut Sauce. That fire engine red sauce is a scary sight to behold. It means burnt lips, tongue, mouth, and eyebrows. Fortunately, it had minimal bite. This was undoubtedly my favorite dish. I could eat it everyday.
After all was said and done, I couldn't figure why this place was as busy as it was. It is competitive but not outstanding or value priced.
