The Jibarito was a takeout order. By the time I it reached my grubby hands, the plantain texture was like room temperature French fries, hard, starchy, and gritty. The steak is seasoned sufficiently but the ensemble doesn't cut it at room temperature. I tried to imagine it moments from the kitchen but still its flavor doesn't sing. It was only a whisper.
