Nana looks and feels to be at home in Bridgeport but it could just as easily fit into the posh Lincoln Park neighborhood. And for a Bib Gourmand restaurant, the prices can be considered reasonable.
Avocado Fries with Garlic Lime Aioli. I take it back. Maybe the price isn't so reasonable for this appetizer of 5 slices of fried avocado going for $10 or $2 per piece. I would think the avocado would melt in the fryer but it doesn't. The avocado remains intact and Nana does not use unripened avocados to make it so.
The avocados per se even with batter are on the bland side, edible as is without complaint. The aioli however takes this appetizer to a whole new level, a night and day difference. Salty, creamy, garlicky, and leaves a tingle to the tongue. I want more.
The money dine at this New American restaurant so I fit in like a sore thumb.
