OM is a relative new comer to the crowded Indian food scene. Madison
must have a lot of Indian scholars and students otherwise a smallish
city as Madison wouldn't be able to support as many Indian restaurants
as it has. Either that or the white liberal educated want to show their
acceptance of diversity.
I still can't wrap my head around all the Indian food names. Some food items are recurring and I've finally been able to grasp them but then their names are Anglo based.
Goat curry, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, chicken biryani, crab curry. Yes, they serve Maryland blue crab and I didn't understand why so few customers took this item. It's a lot of work to get small pieces of meat. The flavor soaks to the core but is it spicy.
It's all good and some items shine. I don't know where the fusion comes in as it still seems to be straight Indian food. OM has a limited buffet selection compared against the competition. I haven't decided if I'll be returning but I'm leaning toward not.
