El Bolillo offers at least on a quick glance of their chalkboard a limited selection of Mexican cuisine. More prominent as their name suggests are baked goods.
The conchas are most salient and occupy the display cases and the day or older shelves. The day old conchas taste like they are a day old or older. They'll have to be reheated in some manner to give it some semblance of freshness and edibility. Or buy it to feed the pigeons an expensive treat.
I asked the owner what was one of the more popular menu items and he said the Chicken Quesadillas. The chicken quesadilla was sizeable with fair sized bits of chicken but just average, not alive with flavor, not distinguishing itself from the many other quesadillas I've had. The accompanying tomatillo salsa green sauce however was something better than offered by the competition. It was fresh, mildly spicy, slightly tangy, and with just a tinge of bitterness. I could eat this stuff by the spoonful.
