Asian Delight sits in a small strip mall in a residential area with big business Staples across the street. I would believe the majority of Delight's business is a result of Staples personnel stopping in during lunch.
Hainanese Chicken. This was a decent middle of the road preparation. It will do but doesn't have me craving seconds.
Fried Rice. I forget the exact name but this was probably the most ordinary of fried rice dishes I've had in the GTA. I've made better.
Braised Chicken, Bacon, and Spaghetti. This dish tasted like pasta carbonara minus the pepper. An average home cook could easily replicate this dish.
The owner was atypical Chinese in her demeanor. Kind, sweet, patient, thankful, and wishing us well and to see us in the future as we returned, seemingly not as an obligation but as a reflection of her character. All Chinese restaurant hostesses and wait staff could learn from her.
If Asian Delight survives in the long run, it will be because of its proximity to Staples and because of its service. From a food standpoint, it can't survive the onslaught of the GTA competition.
Probability of making an out of the way return: 0%
Probability of returning if in the area: 1%
