J. Red is a restaurant for the minority white Canadians in this ethnically diverse Brampton. It's also one of the few restaurants that attempts New American/Canadian cuisine. Does it do it justice?
J. Red is a restaurant for the minority white Canadians in this ethnically diverse Brampton. It's also one of the few restaurants that attempts New American/Canadian cuisine. Does it do it justice?
Cripsy Eggplant and Cheddar Stack comprises fried eggplant with smoked cheddar, vine tomato chutney, onion sprouts and chickpea relish on a cranberry multi-grain foccacia bread ($14). Pictures can't do justice to this lady finger sized sandwich. It would fill up a 5 year old, not a ravenous construction worker. The sandwich per se was pleasant and tasty but more of a sweet snack than a savory meal.
J. Red feels like it's about the money and the establishment of fame rather than giving the customer an outstanding experience.
