In the competitive restaurant business, you need to be outstanding if you're going to survive. You need to have something or do something better than the competition. A sandwich shop needs to be better than Subway. With that said, I'm predicting Mr. Torta's will be short lived unless they continue to tweak their product.
The competition makes better tortas with better service with more generous portion size at a lower cost and all importantly are situated better.
Mr. Torta is low key and doesn't stand out like the nearby Culver's. The mantra is location, location, location and it appears to be big handicap for Mr. Torta's.
The roll tastes like Walmart bakery freshness and quality. The ingredients lack zing. The overall package taste like it's just there. In this case, the whole is not greater than the sum of the parts.
