Roses reminds me of the ice cream parlors and burger joints of old. Even though established in the 50's it felt more 60's. It feels like a place for old school burgers, fries, and shakes, the place you'd take a high school date on a Friday night.
I was full from the evening meal with even less room for dessert. However dogs and humans are the only two species in the animal kingdom that overeat. Why break from tradition? The plethora of flavors made for much indecision but spotting the seasonal flavors quickly narrowed the choices.
Cantaloupe sounded too good to pass up. For a single scoop, she really packed it on. Thick, creamy, sweet, with a pleasing balanced natural cantaloupe flavor. On a cold night this went down well.
