Plaka opens at 6 AM for the early risers and surprisingly it has its share of customers, local that is.
It's a Greek establishment so I had to order the Egg & Gyro in a pita. I didn't notice a spit if there was one but I'd guess, right or wrong that based upon the moisture, the gyro meat wasn't cut fresh off the spit but either frozen and microwaved or it was dunked in hot water to reheat. Nonetheless it was decent. Can you ever go wrong with gyro meat? Better were the fresh onions and tomatoes. Even better were the egg and the too hot to touch fresh grilled pita. The tzatziki sauce provided a nice cool contrast.
Not the best, but satisfactory for a low cost fast breakfast.
