With the majority of the hyped restaurants I have encountered, the reality has been incongruous with the hype. On a first swing by, the much hyped Burger's Priest was closed. Doors open at 11:30 AM.  I returned for a night burger to find it to be a tiny interior sardine tin with a line out the door.

The Priest

The patties are griddle smashed to order. I received the burger disappointed at the lack of heft. $10 for a Where's the Beef burger? But two bites into The Priest and I was accolyte.

The soft bun crumbled to easily. Toppings included deep fried Portabello mushroom, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, mayo, mustard, catsup, and pickles. The deep fried portabello mushroom offered a crispy contrast and beefy moistness. I rued ordering mayo,  mustard, and ketchup, believing it would be too tart and overpowering but the amount the assembler slathered on was perfect. The American cheese was a wonderful gooey mess. The supposedly fresh ground beef was soft, crumbled too easily in the mouth, leaning the fluffy airy, breaking apart easily, lacking some substance. Burger Rating: 9.0

Probability of making an out of the way return: 5%
Probability of returning if in the area: 70%

Bottom Line: The Real Deal
