Guy Fieri needs to showcase this oasis on the California Arizona border.  How can such a fantastic BBQ/Pastrami joint exist in the middle of nowhere? Every time I've been in town, I have made at least one stop here.

3/29/13 11:29. Pulled Pork

Pastrami Sandwich. I expect an NY style sandwich with slices of pastrami.  Instead chopped pastrami on a roll comes out. It was OMG spectacular with yellow mustard. Smoky, spicy, salty.  It was so good I returned for another.  If you can order only one item on their extensive menu, order this signature Pastrami sandwich.

Pulled Beef Brisket. Up to this point, I'm not a fan of beef brisket in general because to me it always seems dry. Nonetheless, I ordered brisket as Rebel seemed to do things right.  I'm glad I ordered it because it turned out to be the best brisket I've had to date. Smokey, tender, moist.

3/20/13, 5:20 PM. St Louis Ribs 1/2 rack. To call this a disappointment is an understatement. It had only the slightest hint of smoke and was otherwise bland.  The meat was lean and not too dry but it was hardly tender requiring much chew and a firm bite to pull the meat off the bones.  The sauce was watery and insipid. I can find this quality any given night at an Old Country Buffet. The pitmaster failed big time here.

4/9/18, 5:45 PM. The Meat Platter comprises pulled chicken, pulled pork, 1 rib and a meat of choice which for me is brisket.  Trust me: Skip the meat platter and ask for anything with Brisket or Pastrami.

4/10/18, 11:37 AM. The Pastrami continues to be the zenith of Rebel. Execution varies from great to OMG. Anything lower would be an aberration.

Probability of making an out of the way return: 0%
Probability of returning if in the area: 100%
