Aroma is located on the northwest corner of Brimley and Sheppard in a rundown mini-mall with too many vacant store fronts, which is surprising as this area seems like prime real estate. Aroma was the only store in the mall with any traffic.
The lesser known Husband Cake with sesame seed topping. The Husband cake has the flakey crust with a slightly SALTY slightly chewy wintermelon inside – there’s a joke. This was an absolutely incredible treat fresh. A couple days out of the oven makes it ordinary.
Wife Cake. The classic and traditional treat, this was the best I’ve every had, even better than in Hong Kong. As incredibly good as the Husband cake was, the Wife Cake was even better. The flaky crust was ethereal and the wintermelon was spot on in sweetness and chewiness. Totally addictive and we fought over who would have the last one. Buy at least six to avoid the tax.
Unquestionably Aroma rates a must stop for us the next time we’re in the area!
