I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Stuffed Cod prix fixe selection at $19.99 that includes a salad, the entree, and a dessert.
The waitress appears efficient enough but in reality is a sly person performing perfunctory work, a person who appears to do the job but knows how to perform to leave an impression of an above average performer. I order an Arnold Palmer which I see her prepare. It is the most insipid watered down one I've ever had.
The option is either the House salad or a Caesar's. The House is supposed to be the specialty with poppy seed dressing. I find the salad limp, ordinary, and oily and as if prepared well in advance. The pine nuts create for an atypical taste.
The dish arrives lukewarm. It takes 10 minutes to arrive after the salad but I'm certain it is baked in advance and allowed to sit under a warming lamp. The cod per se is drab and dry but the stuffing is properly seasoned. It has 60 count sized shrimp. I didn't find any chunks of lobster in the stuffing. I try to get a forkful of stuffing with each stab at the cod.
The creme brulee is better than any other I had recently but it wouldn't rank as top notch. It has the glazed top with a semi-creamy light custard filling.
The check comes out with a separate charge of $6.95 for the House salad. What? I ordered the prix fixe selection. I pointed it out the waitress who coyly and immediately responds she made a mistake. Really? It seems she knew exactly what she was doing.
For $20, I can't complain about the quality of the ingredients even though execution was off target. Service? I didn't get sick...
